Bicentennial year Corvette. American two-door, two-seater luxury cars considered “America’s Sports Car” manufactured since 1953. FACTORY AC CAR. A third-generation Corvette, patterned after the Mako Shark II concept car, 3rd Gen was introduced for the 1968 model year and was in production until 1982. C3 coupes featured the first use of T-top removable roof panels which this car has. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2, but the body and interior were new. Iconic hideaway headlights. Power steering/ Power Disk Brakes. Automatic Turbo 350 transmission. 350 cu in (5.7 L) L48 @ 270 horsepower. Chrome valve covers with raised “350” script. Factory correct Chrome distributor cover. Engine compartment is very clean. Cast iron exhaust manifolds. Down pointed dual exhaust sounds great. The 2 separate words “Sting Ray” were not used on the 1968 model. 1969 (through 1976) models used the "Stingray", one word. In 1970 (continued through 1976) body design changes included fender flares, and interiors were refined, including redesigned seats and indication lights near the gear shift that were an early use of fiber optics. For the 1976 models the fiberglass floor was replaced with steel panels to provide protection from the catalytic converter's high operating temperature. For 15 model years the names Corvette, Sting Ray, and Stingray was synonymous. Mahogany code 37 paint. Older paint with some chips. Good body fit lines in gaps. Emblems look new. Glass is all good. Classic flying buttresses with recessed back window. Molded Rear deck spoiler. Front black plastic spoiler. Buckskin leather interior. Looks very good. Floor console. 2 tone mock wood steering wheel.
