1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible, True Survivor, Believed 36,472 Original Miles

There’s restored and then there’s preserved. This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible is a very nice survivor a largely original Super Sport that tells its story the right way.

Finished in correct Code 936 Ermine White with a white power convertible top, this car represents one of the most iconic color combinations Chevrolet offered in 1964. The paint presents well and maintains the clean, crisp look that made the ’64 Impala such a timeless design. The white convertible top is in place and functional, though it is currently in need of service. It includes the correct convertible top boot for a finished appearance when lowered.

Inside, the car features the correct Code 879 Red Super Sport interior and it’s beautiful. Many components remain original, including the bucket seats and center console configuration that defines a true SS. The red interior against the Ermine White exterior is pure mid-60s Chevrolet styling at its best. The factory tachometer is in place, a desirable Super Sport feature that reinforces its authenticity.

Under the hood sits the original 283 cubic inch V8 engine, rebuilt approximately seven years ago with only about 2,000 miles driven since. It is paired with the original 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, which was recently rebuilt as well. The previous owner stated nearly $10,000 was invested in rebuilding the engine and transmission. The result is a car that starts easily, runs strong, shifts smoothly, and drives exactly as a well-preserved Impala should.

The odometer shows 36,472 miles, and it is believed to be correct original mileage. Supporting that belief is documented ownership paperwork dating back to 1981 a strong history trail that adds confidence and credibility to the car’s story.

As is typical with many survivor Impala convertibles, the floors and braces are not perfect. This is not a freshly restored, over-corrected show car. It is an honest, largely untouched example that has been maintained and preserved rather than rebuilt from scratch. For many collectors, that originality is far more valuable than shiny undercoating and reproduction panels.

The car sits on correct 1964 Impala SS hubcaps with newer white wall tires, maintaining its factory-correct appearance. It also features front bumper guards, adding to its classic mid-60s presence.
