1968 AMC Javelin 390 V8 Engine - headers and a 2-inch dual exhaust system. Chrome valve covers, open top, extra tall air cleaner for the Fresh Air Induction Hood. 4-barrel Carburetor. Factory 4 Speed Manual Transmission. 430 Rear End. Interior - Black “831”, "E"- all vinyl reclining Bucket Seats. “AutoMeter” Auto Gage Monster Tach w/Shift Light. Paint & Body - Tahiti Turquoise (born Blazer Blue). AMC known as American Motors Corporation, was an American automotive manufacturer. AMC was founded when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 which became the largest corporate merger in United States history at the time. A long-nose, short-tail pony car, unique two-seat, short-wheelbase car. Underneath, semi-elliptic rear leaf springs and front coil springs, extra-heavy-duty shock absorbers, and a 0.88-inch diameter sway bar. The cars' front suspension's uses an upper trunnion pivot, special handling hardware, and wider wheels. Power Disc Brakes. In January 1968, two specially prepared AMC’s set 106 world speed and endurance records at Goodyear's track in Texas driven by world land speed record holder Craig Breedlove, his wife Lee, and Ron Dykes.
