1971 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible, Frame Off Restored with Matching Numbers 455 Big Block V8 Engine, Turbo 400 3 Speed Automatic Transmission, what a difference a year makes. In 1970, at the zenith of the muscle car movement, Oldsmobile produced about 19,000 442 models, with nearly 3,000 of them convertibles. A Year later, with muscle car sales dropping, the company produced less than 7,600 442s. Only 1,304 of those '71 442s were convertibles, This Viking Blue 1971 Oldsmobile 442 convertible was Sold originally in Ontario, Canada. The car has power windows. It also has an original tilt steering wheel. This 442's 455-cubic-inch V8 engine is original to the car and has been rebuilt to the specifications of the optional W-30 package. Engine starts easily, without smoke. The choke works properly, transitioning normally from high idle after a brief warm-up. The only concession to originality was the upgrade of the original 2.25- inch exhaust system to a 2.5- inch system. The chassis and suspension are in excellent condition and there are no known issues or leaks with the steering, handling or braking system. Rare Super Stock 15- inch wheels with the correct bolt-on center caps replace the original 14-inch wheels and are wrapped in Brand New BF Goodrich Radial T/As.
