1970 Plymouth Cuda, Plum Crazy, Matching Numbers

This early-build 1970 Plymouth Cuda, finished in the legendary Plum Crazy Purple with a White Vinyl Top and White Bucket Seat interior, is a true Mopar icon. With a build date of October 1969, this car retains its factory-correct matching-numbers 383 cubic inch V8 engine and matching-numbers automatic transmission. The engine block itself carries an August 1969 casting date, further affirming its authenticity as an early-production example.

Underneath, the car is equipped with the Chrysler 8 3/4-inch rear differential. The casting number 2070741 identifies this unit as the “741” case, built with the 1 3/8-inch, 10-spline pinion shaft. This rear end features a 10-bolt pinion housing and is matched to a “28” date code, corresponding to the 28th week of the year during the 1964–1972 production window. Together, this drivetrain setup reflects the originality and engineering Chrysler enthusiast's prize.

The exterior presentation is excellent, showcasing high-gloss Plum Crazy paint with only very minor blemishes visible only upon close inspection. Complementing the vivid exterior, the Cuda rides on BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires with wider rear wheels for a period-correct stance.
