1999 GEM E825 Restored Electric Car, 3.5 Horsepower General Electric DC Motor geared to a Dana Spicer differential Restoration Just Completed and Painted Desirable Cortez Silver, New Interior that seats 4, Custom Wheels, New Tires, Six Trojan Deep Cell Non Spillable and sealed maintenance free Batteries from 2018. Charges easily in any power outlet, A lot of people refer to this as a NEV short for Neighborhood Electric Vehicle, but it is officially known as an LSV which is a Low-Speed Vehicle which are limited to a top speed of 25 MPH and must have basic safety equipment. The GEM goes it's own way in construction details. The frame consists of aluminum extrusions welded together. The overhead loops serve as roll bars and roof supports and are also aluminum. The fenders, hood and cargo carrying bustle (not shown in photos but currently installed) are all fiberglass and most of the other body parts are vacuum-formed ABS polycarbonate. Also included are rack and pinion steering gear and drum brakes all around. Runs and Drives Great.
